Brad Box Will Help Schools and Other Entities Prepare for Major Changes

in Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Law

Jackson, TN – Major changes in Tennessee’s workers’ compensation become effective this July 1.  These changes will include new standards for determining compensation for workplace injuries and for establishing the cause of those injuries, among other revisions.  Brad Box will explain these changes in a 90-minute webinar on June 30 for leaders of public school systems and other governmental entities that participate in the Tennessee Risk Management Trust.

Box is an attorney with Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC (Rainey Kizer) where his practice focuses on civil litigation and trial practice, with emphasis on the areas of insurance coverage, business litigation, personal injury, and workers’ compensation.  He is President of the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association and serves on Rainey Kizer’s executive committee.

Box’s peer reviews include an AV-Preeminent® rating by Martindale Hubbell and inclusion in Law & Politics magazine’s list of “Super Lawyers” in Tennessee.   He is a fellow of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (“FDCC”) and a member of the Howell Edmunds Jackson American Inns of Court.  In 2013, Box was selected by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam to serve on the Governor’s Commission for Judicial Appointments.

The Tennessee Risk Management Trust (TNRMT) was created to protect the assets of public schools in Tennessee by providing comprehensive insurance coverage designed specifically for the needs of Tennessee’s public school systems. The TNRMT has broadened this vision to cover not only Tennessee’s educational entities, but Tennessee’s governmental entities as well. Currently, TNRMT provides liability, property, and workers’ compensation coverage to more than 200 governmental and educational entities in Tennessee.
