RAINEY KIZER EXPANDS THEIR DOWNTOWN OFFICE

MEMPHIS, TN (September 26, 2013) – Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC has renewed its lease and is expanding its presence in the Raymond James Tower, located at 50 North Front Street, according to Cushman & Wakefield/Commercial Advisors, tenant representative in the transaction.

Rainey Kizer, is one of the 20 largest firms in Tennessee, with 38 attorneys. Founded in Jackson, TN in 1975, the firm opened an office in East Memphis in 2005.  As the firm grew, it relocated to its downtown Memphis location in 2008. Continued growth has created the need for more space. Its current expansion brings a larger conference room and more attorney offices, increasing the firm’s footprint by 30% and providing room for future growth.

Rainey Kizer represents local, regional, and national clients in state and federal courts and before regulatory agencies. The firm’s attorneys work in many practice areas, including healthcare, employment law, commercial litigation, business formation, insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, trusts and estates, and commercial real estate transactions.

“We’ve had steady, sustainable growth in our Memphis office, and this expansion allows us to continue that growth,” said John Burleson, Rainey Kizer President. “In addition to our strong group of Memphis attorneys, many of our Jackson-based lawyers try cases in Memphis and work from this office during the trials. Being so close to I-40 and I-55 is great for serving our Arkansas and Mississippi-based clients.”

Cushman & Wakefield/Commercial Advisors Vice President, Jeb Fields and Associate, Neely Mallory represented Rainey Kizer in the lease transaction.

Before making the decision to expand, the firm weighed the option of relocating to another building. “It was an important consideration for them to remain in downtown Memphis. Downtown offers Rainey Kizer a unique business environment that provides efficient services and helps them attract and retain talent,” said Fields.

“We love downtown,” said Amanda Waddell, medical malpractice defense attorney and Rainey Kizer partner based in the Memphis office. “It’s convenient to the courts. When we have the opportunity to leave the office for lunch, there are so many great restaurants within walking distance, and, you can’t beat our view of the Mississippi River.”

“Downtown is Memphis’s legal hub,” said Paul Morris, President of the Downtown Memphis Commission. “Being in an office campus connected to courts, judges, the bar association, and the law school, and among a community where most of the region’s attorneys practice, gives law firms a competitive edge. But beyond business advantages, Rainey Kizer’s decision to expand Downtown says that this corporate law firm is also a good corporate citizen, invested in the growth and future of Memphis,” adds Morris. “It’s exciting to see prestigious firms like Rainey Kizer flourish and build great Memphis companies in the heart of our city.”
