Join Jerry Kizer and Gregory Jordan as Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediators

Jackson, TN (December 18, 2013) – John D. Burleson and Michelle Greenway Sellers, attorneys in the Jackson offices of Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC (Rainey Kizer), have been approved by the Tennessee Supreme Court Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Commission as Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediators.  In addition to Burleson and Sellers, Rainey Kizer Attorneys Jerry Kizer and Gregory Jordan are Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediators.

A Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator is an impartial party who helps parties to resolve civil disputes without the necessity and expense of trial.  Mediation allows the parties involved in a dispute to maintain control of their situation and the ultimate outcome.  Another advantage of mediation is that it allows disputes to be settled more quickly and often less expensively than taking a case to trial.  Rule 31 refers to the Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31, which established court-based alternative dispute resolution on a state-wide basis.

At Rainey Kizer, Burleson focuses his practice in the areas of employment law litigation, municipal law, federal civil rights litigation, workers’ compensation, commercial litigation, and general tort litigation.  Burleson, a 1983 honors graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, has been associated with Rainey Kizer since that time. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America in the categories of Employment Law – Management, Litigation – Labor and Employment, and Workers Compensation Law – Employers.  He is a member of the Tennessee bar Foundation.

Sellers devotes the majority of her practice to representing hospitals, physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, nurses, other healthcare providers, medical clinics, and nursing homes in medical malpractice litigation or regulatory matters.  She has been associated with the firm since graduating with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2000.  She is a past president of the Young Lawyers Division of the Tennessee Bar Association and served two terms as president of the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association.  In 2011 she was selected as a fellow the Tennessee Bar Foundation, an honor limited to 35 attorneys per year.
