Rainey Kizer’s Michael Joiner Named to University of Memphis

Memphis, TN (May 29, 2012) – Michael Burnett Joiner, a Memphis attorney with Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC. (Rainey Kizer), has been named to the Law School Chapter of the University of Memphis Alumni Association and he will serve a three-year term.

While a student at the university’s Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law, Joiner was a member of the Memphis Law Review and active in Moot Court. He was Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board, a first-year Moot Court Champion, and recognized as Best Oral Argument Advocate in Moot Court in the Tennessee Institute Program. Joiner also served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association.

Joiner received the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inns of Court Outstanding Pupil Award in 2008-2009. He was awarded the Rita S. Geier Scholarship, the Tennessee Board of Regents Scholarship, the Evans & Petree Law Firm Scholarship in Honor of Percy Harvey, the Judge John D. Martin Scholarship and the Ben F. Jones Chapter National Bar Association Scholarship. Joiner also received a CALI Award for excellence in Sports Law.

At Rainey Kizer, he is a member of the firm’s Tort and Insurance Practice Group. Joiner’s practice focuses primarily in the areas of tort litigation, workers’ compensation, insurance coverage, and general insurance defense. He is licensed to practice in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky, and the District of Columbia.
