Before joining the Firm, Brandon served for two years as a law clerk to Judge David R. Farmer of the Tennessee Court of Appeals, Western Section. While in law school, Brandon served on the Editorial Board of the Law Review, earned the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Legal Methods for writing the best legal memorandum and the best appellate brief, and earned the Dean’s Distinguished Community Service Award for providing more than 100 hours of pro bono legal services to the community. During that time, Brandon served as a research assistant to Professor Robert C. Banks, Jr., where he was responsible for researching, editing, and updating the leading Tennessee Civil Procedure treatise, and also served as a graduate assistant to Professor David S. Romantz, where he assisted in writing a textbook on statutory construction and interpretation.

  • Century Surety Company v. Education is the Key, LLC, et al., No. 2:22-cv-02704-JPM-cgc, -- F.Supp.3d -- (W.D. Tenn. Feb., 9, 2024) (granted summary judgment in favor of insurer, finding that insurer did not owe duty to defend or indemnify under CGL policy).
  • Snyder v. Erie Ins. Co., No. 1:22-cv-01205-STA-jay, 2023 WL 9503402 (W.D. Tenn. Dec. 12, 2023) (granted summary judgment in favor of insurer, dismissing bad faith claims).
  • Madison Holdings, LLC, et al. v. The Cato Corporation, No. W2022-00685-COA-R3-CV, 2023 WL 4103130 (Tenn. Ct. App. June 21, 2023) (affirmed trial judgment in favor of lessee in commercial lease dispute, finding lessor in violation of major anchor tenant provision and competitive stores provision of commercial lease).
  • Forsythe v. Jackson Madison Cnty. Gen. Hosp. Dist., et al, No. W2021-01228-COA-R3-CV, 2022 WL 17247615 (Tenn. Ct. App. Nov. 28, 2022) (affirmed summary judgment in favor of defendants, finding trial court properly dismissed plaintiff’s negligent security claim because it was related to provision of health care services and, therefore, subject to the filing requirements of the Tennessee Health Care Liability Act).
  • Mountain Laurel Assurance Co. v. Wortham, No. 2:17-cv-02660-TLP-tmp, 2018 WL 5269829 (W.D. Tenn. Oct. 23, 2018) (granted summary judgment in favor of insurer, finding that insurer did not owe duty to defend or indemnify under auto liability policy).
  • Philadelphia Indemnity Ins. Co. v. FedEx Freight, Inc., 297 F.Supp.3d 795 (W.D. Tenn. 2017) (granted summary judgment in favor of insurer, finding that insurer did not owe duty to defend or indemnify under CGL policy).
  • Garvin v. Malone, No. M2015-00856-COA-R3-CV, 2016 WL 769835 (Tenn. Ct. App. Feb. 26, 2016) (affirmed trial court's order denying plaintiffs’ motion for new trial, finding no error in allowing jury to consider defendant’s photographs of vehicles taken immediately after collision for purposes of impeaching plaintiffs’ testimony regarding the impact they experienced as a result of collision).
  • Daniel v. Allstate Ins. Co., No. W2014-01965-COA-R3-CV, 2015 WL 1578553 (Tenn. Ct. App. Apr. 6, 2015) (affirmed summary judgment in favor of insurer, finding claim barred by contractual limitations period of insurance policy).

Interests

Brandon, his wife Courtney, and their two children, make their home in Jackson, Tennessee where they enjoy spending time with family and friends, and serving the community through their church. Brandon is an avid hockey fan, enjoys coaching youth soccer, and can often be found tackling various DIY projects in his free time.
