Rainey Kizer’s Cory Brown and Geoffrey Lindley Brief Attorneys and Others on Affordable Care Act

Nashville,TN– The Tennessee Bar Association’s continuing education program on the Affordable Care Act (sometimes referred to as “Obamacare”) featured two attorneys from Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC (Rainey Kizer).  Cory Brown and Geoffrey Lindley addressed the topic “Top 10 Questions Your Client May Ask You” at the program titled “Affordable Care Act for General Practitioners: 13 Months and Counting.”  

The program, held at theTennesseeBarCenterinNashville, was described as helping attorneys “grasp the fundamental changes that will be taking place over the next 13 months as governments, insurance companies, healthcare providers and employers make the changes called for in the law.”  Participants received a total of four Continuing Education Units (CEUs) awarded by the Bar Association.

As a member of Rainey Kizer’s Healthcare Practice Group, Cory focuses his practice in the areas of healthcare transactions and regulatory compliance. He regularly works on matters pertaining to federal and state healthcare laws and regulations; the formation, sale and acquisition of healthcare entities; physician employment matters; Medicare/Medicaid audits; and Medicare/Medicaid compliance matters.  Cory graduated with highest honors from law school at theUniversityofMemphis, where he was a law review editor.

Geoffrey advises employers on issues concerning all areas of employment and human resource concerns, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and other laws applicable to employers.  He also litigates employment claims for employers and frequently speaks to attorneys and HR professionals at educational conferences and seminars on employment issues.  He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Law, where he was an associate editor of the Tennessee Journal of Business Law.
