Marty Phillips to Speak at Tennessee Medical Malpractice Conference

Marty R. Phillips will be speaking at the Tennessee Medical Malpractice Conference at the Nashville School of Law on May 21, 2010. His topic is “Preparing for and Taking Depositions in Medical Malpractice Cases.” The conference is presented by Tennessee Attorneys Memo.

About Marty R. Phillips

Marty Phillips has significant experience representing clinics, hospitals, physicians, and nurses in medical malpractice actions and also has significant experience in general civil litigation and appellate practice.

 

He was admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Tennessee in 1991. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court of Tennessee (Western District, Middle District, and Eastern District), the Sixth United States Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

 

Marty is a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Association and a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation, a member of the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He is Past President of the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association and Past Chairman of the Medico-Legal Committee of the Tennessee Bar Association. He serves a member of the Advisory Board of West Tennessee Business College and President of the Birth Choice, Inc. Board of Directors.

 

Marty has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Medical Malpractice Law. Marty has also been recognized in Law & Politics magazine’s list of “Super Lawyers” in Tennessee in the area of Personal Injury Defense: Medical Malpractice. He authored “The Admissibility of Failing the Board Certification Exam” and “Vaccine Injury Litigation,” published by the Defense Research Institute. Marty is a frequent speaker at seminars pertaining to civil trial practice, pretrial practice, and medical malpractice litigation.

 

He has been associated with the Firm since receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1991 from the University of Tennessee College of Law, and he is the leader of the Firm’s medical malpractice group.
